Description

Creation of a new broadleaf woodland covering 19.44 hectares. The woodland is a mixture of birch, oak, rowan, willow and scots pine on the upper margins and some specimen trees including oak, cherry, sycamore and silver birch on the better soils. the woodland will be an expansion of the existing remnants of ancient woodland on the site which includes birch, rowan, willow and juniper. An area of 2 hectares has been identified for woodland regeneration adjacent to these core areas. The scheme will be enclosed with a deer fence and access will be provided through the planting via the existing track giving access through to the hill.
