Description

Wollrig is a 39.68 ha mixed plantation of diverse conifers on pasture near Ashkirk. The woodland has been designed to complement the surrounding landscape while delivering timber production and maintaining and enhancing biodiversity value. Timber production is the primary objective, though a large proportion of diverse conifers have been used due to the favourable site conditions. Main conifers are Sitka spruce, Norway spruce, Douglas fir and Scots pine, with downy birch, rowan, willow and alder for ecological value in the riparian zones.
