A mixed woodland totaling 23.58ha spread over 5 sites comprising elements of commercial & native conifers, mixed native broadleaves and native upland birch. The woodlands are planted on Bolfracks Estate, surrounded by magnificent Highland Perthshire scenery. The commercial conifer element (Sitka spruce) accounts for 56% of the net planted area along with Scots pine 11%, native upland birch mix 17%, mixed native broadleaves 16% and areas of open ground around sensitive habitats & archaeological features. The upland birch and native broadleaf elements are mainly aimed at expanding existing areas of native woodland adjacent to the new planting.
