Bear Creek RM 6.6 (ID: 104000000029692)

Account Holder
The Freshwater Trust
Description
The Freshwater Trust removed invasive plants and installed native riparian vegetation on a portion of Bear Creek, a tributary to the Rogue River in Jackson County, Oregon, in the City of Central Point. Bear Creek provides critical habitat for salmonids and other fish and wildlife species. Much of the riparian vegetation in this section of the basin has been altered, dramatically reduced in number and diversity, and this site was previously affected by wildfire. Once restored, this section of the waterway will provide long-term shade to the system, enhance native fish and wildlife habitat and improve riparian function. The City of Central Point, the landowner, has granted The Freshwater Trust access to the site for the 20 year life of the project for the purposes of monitoring and maintenance. Credits were calculated using Heat Source version 8.0.8.
